Livelihood Restoration Plan
About 1,700 resettlers were expected to have to look for new employment as a result of the relocation. Livelihood restoration for the resettled villagers of Yanqian and Donglian is a joint effort by the government and CSPC through providing employment opportunities, training and small business support. Employment and training efforts are closely integrated to help improve the long-term employment potential of resettled villagers.
Working together with the local government, CSPC helped the resettled villages form companies that can perform work for the CSPC Nanhai Project. Approaching livelihood restoration from several different angles helps ensure that as many people as possible have as many opportunities as possible to achieve their own livelihood goals. Creating opportunities for people who want to take advantage of the tremendous potential afforded by the Project is at the heart of the Project's livelihood restoration strategy and is yielding positive results.
